The main producing countries remain China, India, Kenya, and Sri Lanka, which together account for approximately 75% of world production. Although grown primarily in Asia until the 19th century, growing demand has led to tea's spread throughout the world, resulting in over 40 producing countries, including Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Nepal, Korea, Malawi, South Africa, Mozambique, Brazil, and Argentina.
Each country has its own production areas, each with its own unique and unrepeatable terroir, with particular soil conditions, altitude, climate, and surrounding environment, which give us teas that are completely different in character, aroma, and flavor.
In Italy, in Premosello on Lake Maggiore, lies the second largest plantation in Europe and the largest in the country, with approximately 20,000 Camellia Sinensis plants.
This is where La Via del Tè's Italian tea is produced.
