Considered the “champagne of black teas,” Darjeeling grows on the slopes of the Himalayas, in West Bengal, India. Harvested exclusively by hand, it owes its name to “land of thunderbolts,” according to a legend linked to the scepter of Indra, god of rain. The TGFOP grade indicates the presence of tips, the most prized part of the tea plant. In the cup it offers a refined and elegant profile, with fresh and delicately floral aromas. Darjeeling tea is a PGI product: only teas that meet strict criteria of origin and processing may bear this name.
